The countdown begins...

It's been a long week of traveling around Texas to do campus visits to our outmarkets, but I'm back at home and in my routine (for now, one more work trip to Kansas this weekend). I made it to the gym for a quick back workout yesterday followed by a full day at the salon and my sunday has started back in the rhythm at the gym with my full load: 25m cardio, hour of training and 30m of sauna. I did a little lifting and abs today, really trying to focus on my core to help with recovery after my surgery.

Nine months ago, I hurt my tricep and my lifting took a hit. I nursed it back and today I officially lifted the 30lbs up by myself again AND did 5 reps (incline dumbbell press).

After I did that I was so excited, then realized unfortunately, I'll have to do this all over again after surgery, but that's ok. Then THAT made me realize that TODAY I'm officially 30 days out from surgery.

30lbs lifted, 30 days left.

I have a feeling this month is going to fly by so fast and I can't even wrap my head around the way my life is going to feel completely changed after this. I've also never gone more than a week from the gym, so it will feel very weird not doing my favorite thing for at least 4 weeks. This has truly become my happy place.

And to wrap this post up, I'm officially a full week into my new diet and I have zero regrets. I'm definitely feeling a difference. While the difference isn't full blown, it's there. I've also lost 3lbs, so hopefully that trend continues this week, as I still have that little bit I want off before surgery if possible.

The diet hasn't been TOO difficult. Just trying some new replacement things, finding my groove, but for the most part, it's not been too difficult. Eating out is definitely a huge pain, but doable, just have to plan ahead. Last night I made chicken tacos on cassava flour tortillas with cilantro, onion, bell pepper and plant based queso and they were tasty. I wasn't mad. If I can eat yummy food and ALSO feel better.....that's a win for me.

Well that's it for today. Just here to say: I can incline dumbbell press 30lbs again, I'm 30 days out from surgery and the gluten, dairy, soy and refined sugar free diet is working so far!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.
