Guinea Pig Favorites and Must Haves

This list is a mixture of needs and favs. There are SO MANY ITEMS out on Amazon for Guinea Pigs and I've bought so many that were not great, too small, didn't hold up, etc but this list....THIS LIST IS ONLY THE BEST.
I'll also share with you a list of items you'll NEED to have on hand either for daily care or when an emergency arises.
Oxbox Orchard Grass Hay
I get a 50lb bale of Timothy Hay from Tractor Supply but they still like this as an extra treat!
Oxbow Adult Guinea Pig Pellets
I trust nothing but oxbow when it comes to their food needs. period.
Oxbow Vitamin C Treats
I keep these in a cute container and every night before I go to bed, I shake it and they come RUNNING for these.
Oxbow Critical Care
Guineas hide their illnesses, so by the time they quit eating, their illness has already progressed. Just have this on hand ready to go, JUST IN CASE they need to be syringe fed.
60ml Syringes
These are great to have on hand when syringe feeding. It's easy to make a day or two's worth of critical care, store in the fridge and dispense into 1ml or 5ml syringes for feeding throughout the day.
1ml Syringes
The more you have the better. You can pre fill a whole days worth of critical care if you want! These are good too because there's no need to cut the tip off for feeding.
Gripe Water
Great to have on hand in case of gut stasis or gas buildup. Works like a charm to help out their sensitive little stomachs. Just make sure you get one WITHOUT any additional medications in it.
Benebac Pro Gel
TRUST ME. Have these on hand in case your baby has to go on antibiotics. The medicines TEAR UP their fragile stomachs and giving 1g of this about 30m to an hour after their antibiotics, REALLY HELPS avoid gut stasis!
Improvia Washable Underpads
Yes. Adult Incontinence Bed Pads. If you are using fleece in your cage, these are GREAT to put underneath as the absorbent layer AND waterproof layer. Either sew your fleece on top of this OR just lay it on top. Either way, they're easy to clean and just get thrown in the washer!
8gal Trash Bags
I know, seems silly. But I keep these in my clean up bin. They're the perfect size for doing a quick clean of hay bins a couple of times a week!
Zip Ties
If you have a c&c grid cage and love to reorganize often, keep these on hand! These are the cheapest ones I've found that stand the test of time and are super durable!
Gloves
Honestly any gloves will do, but these are the ones I buy because they're relatively cheap. I throw one of these on when I'm cleaning hay bins and honestly just spot cleaning poops! It's much easier to pick them up by gloved hand than to try and sweep them up!
Tide Free & Clear Laundry Detergent
Any beds, liners, cuddle sacs or pads that go into the washer, must be washed in unscented laundry detergent. I also have issues with eczema breakouts so I use this for BOTH reasons ;0)
Pet Laundry Bag
While it's important to knock off as much hay and debris from your items as possible, it's impossible to get it all. These bags are super handy to have to avoid hay/debris getting all over your washer/dryer!
Lixit Water Bottle
I've gone through so many water bottles, and this one is my fav. They all leak. Period. This one is manageable though.
Staybowl Tip-Proof Food Bowl
Ever cleaned the cage, filled the bowls and walk away, only to come back and find pellets everywhere? Not with this bad boy!!
Pet Carrier
I really like this pet carrier! It's the perfect size for some hay and a bed while off to a vet visit. I can even fit my duo in here together if need be.
Wyze Cam V3
Listen - sometimes you just wanna see your babies! These cameras are great for watching how cute they are when you're away, or in the other room LOL. Good Quality and Low Price!
Kaytee Cuddle Cup
Fights break out over this bad boy. It's so soft inside and they love it. It's not very absorbent though, so I usually put a little pee pad in there to change out every day.
Taco Tunnel
They love this little tunnel. It's so soft and large enough for even my chonkiest pig. It's great for a nice snooze.
Beds with Broom/Dust Pan
They love these beds. I actually ended up buying 2 packs so I can change them out every two days. This is where they plop out and stretch their legs. The little dustpan is actually my favorite too. The rough cheap bristles really GRAB the hay off the fleece.
Fleece Corner Tunnel
Fights also break out over this too! While they LOVE running through and sleeping in this tunnel, it does stink that it HAS to go in a corner. Other than that, I love it. It dries quickly too.
Hammock with Wooden Stand
Oh man. They love to snuggle in this hammock, laying underneath it and honestly just running under it gives them extreme joy. Definitely a fav!
Pop Up Tunnel
I have 4 of these and they're all different patterns. The pads that come with them for the bottom don't last long, so I made pads for the bottoms to change out daily so the tunnel itself could make it through the week before washing.
Three Way Tunnel
Finally, something all 3 in the trio's cage can lay in. Although usually only two at a time are allowed without someone getting disgruntled. But they love running through here and taking naps.
Pet Mats
I actually bought 3 of these and it's a fav. I'll throw an extra piece of fleece on there as a blanket and they'll sprawl out. It covers a nice bit of area, is very absorbent and washes easy.
